Tips to Make the Most of Your Trip without Breaking Your Bank
Everyone, regardless of their age, loves the idea of going to Disney World. Being that it is the most magical place on Earth, it is not surprising that kids of all ages are begging their parents and significant others to go! But, between travel, park entrance fees, lodging, and food it is by no means an inexpensive trip. Here are a few tips to help anyone enjoy their trip to the most magical place without their money magically disappearing.
Check for Deals through Disney
In years past, Disney World would avoid discounting as much as possible. Luckily, in more recent years, they have been aggressively advertising different discounted packages for families and large groups. Make sure to check out what Disney has to offer – many times they have packages for lodging that include freebies such as park passes or free meals. The only stipulation with these types of deals is they require a certain length of stay, such as four or five days and are rarely offered during their busy season.
Leave the Car at Home
If the plan is to fly to Disney World, do not worry about having to rent a car to get to the various parks. Disney offers a busing system called Disney Transportation System (DTS) that will shuttle the group to and from the parks if staying in a Disney-owned hotel. The only downside of utilizing this service is that the service can be slow and the buses very crowded, which the group may not what to deal with at the end of a long day at Disney World. In addition, many of the surrounding area hotels offers free shuttle service to the Disney park.
Plan the Trip during the Off-Season
Disney World is, understandably, the most crowded during the summer months when children are out of school. If a tight budget is needed to make the trip happen, consider visiting the park during their low season, which usually starts in late August. During this time, many Disney-run hotels will drop their prices in an attempt to fill the building which can mean big savings. Also, attractions and restaurants will be less crowded across the board, making for a less stressful trip.
Taking the family or a group to Disney World can be a magical experience, but it is important to keep in mind all the expenses that will go along with it. By planning the trip for the right time, looking for hotel deals that offer freebies and relying on Disney run transportation it is possible to keep some of the costs at a minimum. Traveling to the most magical place on Earth does not have to put a heavy strain on the checkbook!
