Almost all of us have things we do not need or use. Whether these items were inherited, received as gifts, or just the result of an unwise buying spree, they are taking up much-needed space. People who want to make some extra cash should consider selling these to get some spending money.
Step 1: Advertise the items on online auction sites like eBay. You can post items for sale at no charge on eBay using a basic ad or pay a few dollars for a standout ad. If you want to sell the item immediately, give it a “Buy it Now” price. Alternatively, you can offer the item for online bidding and sell it to the highest bidder.
Step 2: Post the item on craigslist. In many states, you can advertise items for sale on craigslist at no charge. Similar to with eBay, develop an ad that will capture people’s attention. Try to include the selling price in the ad title and upload photos whenever possible. Image uploads are sometimes slow so create and submit the ad first, then add the photos during the ad editing process.
Step 3: Advertise the items in the classified section of local newspapers. Some local newspapers offer free advertising for items under a certain dollar amount.
Step 4: Post an ad on the supermarket bulletin board. This is a great way to get some additional interest at no charge to you.
Step 5: Gather all of your unneeded things together and have a yard sale. You will be amazed at how much money you can make by selling your unwanted items.
Step 6: Swap the items using online bartering sites. True, this is not money in the pocket, but if you will just be using the money to purchase the item you are exchanging for, it has the same result.
