Turkey usually steals the show on Thanksgiving day but other parts of the meal deserve attention too! During a cocktail hour, appetizers take center stage. Here are some finger foods that you can whip up in twenty five minutes or less. Guests will satisfy their taste buds, while leaving room for the main course.
Step 1: Make cheese wafers using a food processor recipe or buy them in the store. Top them with jalapeno pepper jelly for a sweet and savory appetizer.
Step 2: Slice tomatoes and toss them in herb vinaigrette dressing, then top them with feta cheese for a no-bake appetizer that tastes delicious.
Step 3: Take things south of the border by making salsa that features apples, sweet peppers, cantaloupe, and sweet peppers. Serve it with plain tortilla chips.
Step 4: No one can resist chocolate so cater to the sweet tooth by rolling dark chocolate cookie sticks in either creamy or chunky peanut butter and then in a mixture of toasted nuts and dried cranberries.
Step 5: It can be difficult to find an asparagus side dish that guests will enjoy. Try steaming asparagus spears and wrapping them with prosciutto and provolone cheese instead. Drizzle some balsamic vinegar and olive oil over them to bring out all the flavors.
Step 6: Make an easy shrimp appetizer by filling phyllo tarts with a dill dip, cooked shrimp, and some fresh dill.
Step 7: Bruschetta is a favorite appetizer but get them talking by giving it a new twist. Top crusty Italian bread with goat cheese and add basil pesto and sweet peppers. Finish each piece with some fresh basil for added flavor.
Step 8: Make your own lettuce wraps by adding tofu, coleslaw mix, green onion, fresh cilantro, and water chestnuts to leaves of lettuce and wrapping the leaves around the ingredients. Secure with festive toothpicks and serve with Asian sweet chili sauce.
