You do not need to spend money at the furniture store to have attractive bedside tables. Make them yourself in under one weekend and at a materials cost of less than $100. These unique and attractive tables attach to the wall and hold all your nighttime essentials. You can even use them in other areas of the home to display a small statue or vase of fresh cut flowers.
You will need:
Step 1: Determine the desired size for the table and use the saw to cut the plywood to the correct size.
Step 2: Molding should be used to cover the exposed edges of the plywood. Attach it to the front and two sides with the nail gun, nails, and wood glue. Leave the back side bare because it will be attached to the wall.
Step 3: Use the nail gun and wood glue to secure the corbel to the tabletop. Stain or paint the wood to your liking and allow the table to dry completely.
Step 4: Some corbels feature a keyhole notch on the back. If this is the case, insert a screw in the wall using the screw gun and then slide the corbel onto the screw. If you built a wide table, a cleat may also be needed to support the larger tabletop. If a keyhole notch is not provided, you can create one by drilling a hole of the appropriate size into the corbel. Use the screw as a guideline when selecting a drill bit.
Step 5: Repeat Steps 1 to 4 to create a bedside table for the other side of the bed, if desired.
