The lack of an electrical outlet in a room no longer limits you from operating a light or small appliance. This ingenious little product includes a battery-operated wall switch and a receiver that simply plugs into an electrical outlet. The appliance or light is plugged into the side of the receiver and the wall switch is mounted on a flat wall surface. Install this in any room for easy, wireless operation of an appliance or light.
You will need:
Step 1: Remove the cover of the included wall switch and pull out the plastic tab to enable the small battery it contains.
Step 2: Locate the electrical outlet nearest to the appliance or light. Plug the receiver into this outlet. Plug the appliance or light into the socket on the side of the receiver.
Step 3: Determine where on the wall you would like to mount the light switch. Test the light switch to ensure that it turns on the item plugged into the receiver. If there are no issues, the switch is within the acceptable wireless range. If the item does not turn on, search for a wall location within range.
Step 4: Using the pencil and the back of the outlet plate as a template, mark the holes where the switch will be attached to the wall.
Step 5: Drill the pilot holes in the wall. Use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the plastic wall anchors that came with the switch.
Step 6: Lightly tap the wall anchors into the wall with a hammer.
Step 7: Secure the back of the switch plate to the wall by drilling the two screws through its holes and into the wall anchors.
Step 8: Put the front cover plate onto the back of the switch plate and use the screws and screwdriver to attach the two pieces.
Step 9: Test the switch one more time to make sure that it works.
