After repeated use or just one overflowing cooked meal, the interior of the oven may become caked with baked-on food remnants. This creates an unappealing smell every time you turn on the appliance. Removing grease, grime, and cooked-on food from inside the oven gets it looking and smelling like new. This project takes under an hour and requires only a few materials.
You will need:
Step 2: Pour hot water into the bowl. Dip the metal scouring pad into the water and use it to scrub the interior of the oven. You may need to scrub hard to remove baked-on food. Focus on the bottom of your oven because this area usually contains the most food remnants. Work up the sides, scrubbing the shelf brackets along the way. Rinse the pad off in the water as needed.
Step 3: Remove the cleaner from the interior with the soft cloth. Wipe into all corners of the oven. Continue wiping until the inside of the oven looks clean. Wipe with paper towels to remove any cleaning product residue.
Step 4: Close the door to the oven and set the appliance to a high temperature. Shut off the oven once it has warmed to that temperature. This removes the chemical smell and kills leftover germs. Leave the oven door partially open until the chemical smell has dissipated.
