Colors available for limestone include grey, yellow, red, white, blue and black.
Design your Patio
Determine how much flag stone you will need by measuring for your project. The average patio sized 10 x 10 and one pallet of flagstones will create a patio size 10 x 12. Flagstones are usually sold by the pallet. Extra stone could be used to create walkways for the patio to your home.
Prepare the Area
All grass, rock and stone will need to be completely removed from the ground in the area of your new patio. The soil will need to be leveled and packed in order to prevent any shifting after the stone is laid. You may choose to have a landscaper level and compact the ground for you or you can rent a compactor and do the job yourself.
Purchase the supplies needed
You will need a shovel, concrete sand, flagstone, steel edging, a broom, a 4×4 or level, a compactor and a wheelbarrow. This type of project is not a one-day project and you will need to schedule several days of free time in order to accomplish this task. Typically you will need two days for designing, selecting the stone and purchasing of supplies, you will need one day to lay the stone, and you will need one day to add to steel edging and to seal the stone.
