Our Take on General Tools Mini Tubing Cutter
When you purchase a new home, you will sometimes have to do some of your own handy work to make sure everything is working and operating properly. When we purchased this home, we noticed that some of the piping in the basement needed to be replaced. Instead of hiring someone to do the job, we decided that our skillset would be enough to get the job done, considering we had the right tools. One tool we were in the market for was a tubing cutter that would help make replacing pipes easier.
After doing some research, we landed upon the General Tools Mini Tubing Cutter. Some of the features that drew us to this particular copper tubing cutter was the large knob that would provider a larger amount of torque as well as the wide frame that would help keep cuts straight and steady. The cutter works with tubing that is up to 7/8” which for our project was more than enough – the only downside would be for a professional plumber who would be working with larger piping.
Overall, the tool did exactly what it was advertised to do – cut tubing. Removing the old pipes was much easier using this small tool and the cuts were straight and not jagged, making installation of the new piping easy as well. Overall, this is a great product for both professional construction or contract workers as well as homeowners.
