Great Do-It-Yourself Decorations for Any New Year’s Bash
With New Year’s just around the corner, it is time to decorate for another holiday. Tired of the regular, and sometimes mundane, party hats and streamers? Here are some great, creative and even interactive DIY decorations to jazz up any New Year’s Eve celebration!
Glittery New Year’s Candles
Candles are great for lighting up any home, but these candles will make the New Year sparkle! And the best part? These are incredibly simple to make! Grab four white candles (thick enough to place a number on), glitter, glue and number stickers. First, place a sticker on each candle making sure they are centered and even across all four pieces. Next, cover the rest of the candle in glue, rolling each one in enough glitter to cover it completely. After the glitter dries in place, remove the stickers and voila! Beautiful, festive candles that will brighten up the celebration!
New Year’s Balloon Activity Countdown
Balloons, colored makers, index cards and a little creativity is all that is needed to make the countdown to midnight a blast! This balloon countdown is not just a decoration; it is also a party game! Gather and inflate the balloons, one for each hour leading up to midnight. Then create an activity to do each hour, like play a game or have a contest, and write it down on an index card. Attach one activity to every balloon and each hour, pull one down and do the activity. This will keep guests on their toes, making sure no one has a dull evening.
Decorated Champagne Glasses for New Year’s Eve
The countdown toast is something that every New Year’s Eve party-goer looks forward to. Why not make it special? Paint pens are great for mess-free decorating on all kinds of surfaces, including glass. Take some inexpensive champagne glasses and colored paint pens and style away! Put the year, fun designs or even mimic the party’s theme all over the glasses for a special strike of midnight toast. Having a small gathering? Personalize the glasses with guests’ names or wishes for them in the New Year, doubling them as a party favor!
Celebrating New Year’s is a bright, fun, time to spend with the ones we love, but the decorations do not have to be ordinary or routine. These decorations are not just simple, they are also inexpensive! Take these ideas and let the creative juices flow to make any New Year’s gathering unique and fun!
