Upon reading numerous blogs and articles on foster parents and adoption, all over the Internet, I have stumbled across a very special family that has created another very special family with very special children.
This very special family has written a couple of books. The first one is called ,
By the time Bart and Claudia were married for five years, they had adopted nine children and rounded the number up to twelve by the time their twelfth anniversary rolled around. Out of Many, One Family not only clearly explains how they were able to manage this feat, but what they learned on their journey. Open, candid and thorough, the story unfolds, reminding adoptive parents of their own journey, and encouraging those who are contemplating or have begun the process.
The Second book is called,
Parenting is a tough job. Adoptive parenting adds an additional layer of complexity. Throw into the mix special needs and multiply by twelve, and you begin to get an idea of the challenge that Claudia and her husband Bart have encountered in parenting twelve children, born between 1986 and 1998. Their children provide them with great joy and continual opportunities to deepen their lives. Using humor and Scripture, Claudia tells the story of how God is using their children to bring about change in her life. As a committed parent, Claudia sought to change her children, but instead God used those years to transform herself.
Whether you are a parent or you have one, Claudia invites you to discover how the task of being a mom or dad points us straight to God’s heart. Nothing shows us more of who God is than the way He patiently parents His children.
Look into God’s heart. Explore unconditional love, everlasting peace, infinite wisdom, abundant joy and amazing grace.
All in all I think we can learn something from this very special family and hopefully these books will touch some one’s heart and help a child in need.
